One of the joys of my job is being able to work with other mom and family owned businesses, with assisting in their brand and marketing journey. Throughout these years of working in the field there are a few simple marketing tips I have learned along the way...
Target your market:
Having a business whether you are just starting or have been in business for a while it is important to target your market. This will help you sell your product or services right. Don't be so broad in your market. If you do not target your market you will be wasting time and resources on marketing to clients who may not be in need of what you have to offer. It will not help your business expand. You have to dig deeper. Narrow it down. Find out where the need is for your product or service and market there.
Utilize marketing tools such as a well designed website to help get the word out to your targeted market about your business. Never go for the standard marketing material of what everyone else has. You don't want people to mix your business up with another because you have the same website theme and standard business card. You want to stand out and be memorable. A well custom designed website and business card with information about ways you can help your clients can help you stand out.
Don't make it about you:
It is not 100% about you but more about what you have to offer to the client/customer. When writing your copy be sure it is about your client and not you. How is your business product or services going to make life a bit easier for them. They are the star of the show and you are there to assist.
These things will set you apart from the rest. Especially if you are passionate about what you do and stand for.
